I closed your finger in the door
Once, at least twice
I know it was on purpose
Because I was jealous of you
Of all the attention you got
I didn’t know back then
But I can see it in every video
Jumping in front of the camera
Singing and dancing to capture focus
Jealous I wasn’t the baby
Years later, once there was a new baby,
I closed both your fingers in the car door
On the same day
You can’t have done that on accident
I showed you this poem
You had several thoughts
You still get all the attention—
You know that I stuck my fingers in the door on purpose, right?
Maybe we were fighting for the same thing.
