Ava Dill

Standing in the Trials

See me.
Standing,
Waiting.
By an old oak tree…

Burned.

Watching,
Biding my time,
Boot tapping a crooked root.
In the last drop of sun
Drips the first drop of moon.

Illuminating light,
Bathes the scene.

Washed in silver.
Cutting down a gnarly rope,
From long ago,
Which waited for a day,

That never came.
